It is a certification for undergraduate studies in an American college. The SAT has two formats: the general (SAT Reasoning) and the SAT Subjects, which is given for specific subjects. The SAT evaluates the student's performance in reading comprehension, math, and essay writing. The SAT Subjects evaluate the student's knowledge in specific subjects. The certification is theoretically valid for 5 years (depending on the college and score).
