Beyond every expectation. The best thing that has passed through my hands in the last 10 years. Video 1080, 2, 4, and 8K from 25 to 120p with Leica lens quality and a 1 inch sensor. It provides Normal to Heavy Video, for compatibility with your processing hardware. It is not a MOBILE, it is not Full Frame, and it requires knowledge to give you the absolute quality it can offer. Its price is a gift for those who want quality at low cost. In the case of LUNA, you get more than you give.

You have everything you need from a camera to accompany you everywhere and to record with incredible ease and in high image and sound quality everyday moments. You really don’t need anything else. It can even handle more demanding projects (I-log, filters, 8k). I use it in 1080 HD on auto, without any issues. It zooms with the button, you frame your shots with the mini joystick. At night its shots are incredible, in the morning an ND helps it a lot, it connects quickly to the phone through the app and you get your footage instantly to upload wherever you want. Of course, the detachable screen is worth every penny and the innovation that was missing from cameras in its category. I got the standard version, and the difference from the premium one I used to get the Insta ND filters plus the Mic Air, SD, power bank. And together with an old stick I’ve put together a kit that I carry in an Ulanzi pouch and I’m lightweight for any eventuality and situation, except extreme ones. I won’t take it into the sea, I’ll take a little more care with it at the beach, it’s not an action camera where you don’t care, the gimbals after all need some care so you don’t damage it.

The Insta360 Luna Ultra is a fine line between a smartphone and mirrorless cameras.
It offers the portability of smartphones and how easy they are to use, combined with superior image quality. Of course, not at the level of a mirrorless camera.

Thanks to the gimbal, the video is stable and smooths out left-right movements.
The detachable controller/screen is an incredible quality-of-life update.
Beyond 8K video resolution, it can record 10-bit video with Dolby Vision or I-Log.
The camera’s microphone quality is incredibly good for a built-in mic, but I feel like it loses quality indoors. Obviously, the microphone in the Creator Bundle is much better, but its own microphone pleasantly surprised me as well.
You can take RAW photos with quite good results (on my profile you will find a video where I show photos from the camera)

I would have liked it to be a little larger so it would be more automatic, and the screen a little bigger too. For my fingers it is relatively small, or at least I need to be more careful with my movements because I make miss clicks. Nothing tragic or negative, it is my own problem.

The main problem of the Luna Ultra, like any gimbal camera, is its durability. It won’t fall and break, but gimbal cameras are definitely more delicate than any other kind of camera, and they also don’t handle dirt and water as well. If you want something like that, look at an action camera. The only reason I’m not removing a star for this issue is because ALL cameras of this type have it.

When the camera first came out, it had quite a few issues I’d say (mainly from what I read from others; I won’t say I found any myself), but day by day Insta360 fixed most if not all of them and continues to release firmware updates and make changes based on user feedback.

Finally, it works very well with automatic settings. You will never (almost never; I’ve learned not to be 100% sure even about my own shadow) have an issue with whether your image looks good or not.
