It consists of a solid chemical mixture, which includes an oxidizing agent, a reducing agent, a combustion rate regulator, and a binder. Upon electrical or thermal activation, a redox reaction occurs, producing a large amount of condensed fire-extinguishing aerosol. The metal salt particles contained in the aerosol absorb a significant amount of heat, reducing the flame temperature and inhibiting the combustion reaction.
