The Anycubic Kobra X Series ACE GEN2 extruder is a dual-gear drive unit integrated into the ACE GEN2 print head. It features hardened steel gears with a toothed profile to securely grip 1.75 mm filament during feeding and retraction, as well as a switching mechanism that works with the ACE multi-material unit.
The mechanism allows the gears to engage or disengage during filament purging, tip cutting and retraction. The adjustment screw and spring regulate the gripping force for soft or rigid materials. The extruder is mounted behind the S010401 cutting unit and above the quick-release hotend, minimizing the filament path.
