The 2000-HDE PC-programmable digital ignition unit offers improvement through connection with electronic ignition advance, found in later models of Harleys. These ignitions are controlled by a microcomputer, providing extremely precise control of the ignition process.

Manufactured in the USA and not compatible with fuel-injected models. The use of carbon-fiber spark plug wires is necessary to reduce radio frequency interference. There is a 7-pin connector and it can be used with either dual or single ignition. HDE systems are not compatible with Dyna "S" systems.
