Specifications
The amiibo figure allows data to be transferred into the game via the NFC point of the Wii U GamePad during gameplay. The figure’s data is updated as the game progresses, creating a unique amiibo. In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, the data can be transferred directly into the game, allowing the figure to take part in battles and gradually gain new abilities and attributes, such as greater strength or new moves.
The amiibo figures support the following games on Wii U:
- Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
- Mario Party 10
- Mario Kart 8
- Captain Toad Treasure Tracker
- Yoshi's Woolly World
The figures can also be used on Nintendo 3DS and 2DS via an accessory that was scheduled for 2015.
