The Ewimar LHD-8R-PRO surge protector is designed for CCTV systems using 75 Ohm coaxial cables or UTP cables and supports AHD, HD-CVI, HD-TVI and Turbo HD. Its three-stage protection system includes a spark gap, a gas discharge tube and a Transil. During normal operation, the protection is not galvanically connected to ground, while the circuit capacitance of 7–9 pF limits its effect on signal transmission in the 0–100 MHz range.

The BNC connectors and 1U form factor allow installation on the front or rear rails of a 19'' RACK cabinet. Line-to-ground protection is provided by a 90 V gas discharge tube, while line-to-line protection uses a 6 V protection bridge.
