This is the actual processing power of the recorder. It determines how much "load" (data) it can handle simultaneously from all cameras. A high number is necessary for many channels at high 4K resolution.

• Example 1: You have 4 cameras of 5MP (each requiring ~8 Mbps). A total of ~32 Mbps is required. An NVR with 80 Mbps Incoming Bandwidth is more than enough.

• Example 2: You have 16 cameras of 4K (each requiring ~12 Mbps). A total of ~192 Mbps is required. An NVR with 160 Mbps is not enough and will "lose" cameras or reduce their quality. Here, you need an NVR with at least 256 Mbps.

These ports allow you to connect IP cameras directly to the recorder. The camera receives power and transmits video through the same network cable, making installation extremely simple (plug-and-play).

USB

Its main use is to connect a mouse for menu navigation and settings. Additionally, it is used to connect a USB stick (flash drive) in order to export (take a backup of) specific video clips that interest you.

VGA

An analog video output. Used to connect the recorder to older computer monitors.

Alarm Output

Physical ports (terminals) that allow the recorder to give a "command" to external devices. For example, "As soon as I detect a person, activate an external siren or turn on the lights."

Alarm Input

Physical ports (terminals) that allow external sensors (e.g., door magnetic contact, radar) to send a "command" to the recorder (e.g., "The door just opened, start recording or send a notification").
