Description

Description

Talisker is the only distillery located on the Isle of Skye, the largest island of the Hebrides, and has been operating since 1830. The sea breeze and intense peat give Talisker its distinctive "marine" personality of iodine, heather, and a peppery aftertaste. It is considered one of the best whiskies in the world. With the name Skye, it appeared in 2015 to mentally transport us to where the famous Talisker is produced. A perfect introduction to smoky whiskies. Sweet aroma of caramel, vanilla, and overripe citrus fruits. Pleasant and mildly smoky on the palate.

This review is about a variation of the product

Average. I drank about 30ml and rinsed it with a little Glenfiddich 12. You might say, are they comparable? Of course not, I answer. But I expected more from this house. Strong bitter taste.

I will not buy special editions of any whisky again because it just seems to me that they are inferior to the basic offering of each distillery.

This review is about a variation of the product

I wanted the Storm single malt whisky 10 years old from Scotland 45.8% 700ml, but by mistake I ordered the Skye (probably 10 years old as that's what is listed in the description on Skroutz and that's why I got confused, but it is not mentioned anywhere on the bottle and the box was not included in the package for me to check!). I decided not to return it and to try it, but I regretted it, because the other one is far superior in taste and leaves a nice aftertaste which this one does not have. Additionally, I was disappointed that it arrived without its cardboard packaging, just a plain bottle.

In general, I am a fan of this distillery and in the category of 40 to 50 euros, everything they produce is worth the money and then some. This particular one does indeed give you a salty note that, however, enhances the mystery rather than being bothersome. Obviously, you are drinking something particularly high-quality, and this is evident from the first sip

It is a harsh whiskey, very salty. The aromas are lost in the previous elements I mentioned...rough and difficult whiskey.
    For me, it is excluded.

It is an excellent Malt whiskey and also special for Talisker, as it differs a little from the distillery's original character I would say. Less rough than its 10-year-old sibling which for me is top! Low-intensity sea and less salty than the 10-year-old. Smoky also low intensity, less than the 10-year-old, nice taste, warm, rich, with notes of citrus, honey, green notes, spices and spicy, which together with its light and sweet smoke in combination with the sea breeze, blends wonderfully with all the elements that make it up! Good and smooth on the nose, moderate aftertaste. Easy-drinking, less wild, slightly smoky.... It could be the introductory light smoky malt whiskey for someone to start in the world of smoky malts and smoothly enter the world of Talisker! Wonderful taste! Quite restrained ratings they give it... I give it 4.5 / 5 stars! Try it...! It's worth it!!!

Very good for its price. It is exactly what it should be: smooth, salty with a little intensity in the smoky flavor. Finally, without any alcohol intensity. And without a headache afterwards!

Very strong with intense flavor and smoky sensation.
At the price range of 37-43€, which is available in most liquor stores, it is a very good choice. Buy it confidently if you are a whiskey lover. The average reviews found online do not fully correspond. It is definitely not a "10" but not as mediocre as they claim.

A whiskey that is not for everyone.

Salty taste with a strong and intense character. It is something different, especially for people like me who are fans of Irish whiskey.

Of course, neat, in a glass with a tall neck to get 100% of its aromas.

    I might get it again.

In any case, it is definitely worth a try.

Mr. Patzanas has arrived and Black Label, Teelings, Laphroaig, Ardbeg, Monkey shoulder, Robert Burns, and two other whiskies that I can't remember have been opened and tasted. And in the end, we try this one. And it filled our mouths with flavor even after so much pounding. It was the highlight of the evening. What else can one ask for? The tasting is a must

First time I tried it after having previously drunk a johny black drink and it seemed quite salty and heavy. But when I tried it again with the right ratio of ice, I realized that it is indeed a very special whiskey. Surely what someone likes has to do with personal taste, but in my opinion it is a very high-quality drink that someone should try, with a good ratio of quality to price (around 40 euros) from a very high-quality distillery. And of course, a single malt with a strong aroma and a quite peppery taste of wooden barrel.
