The title takes place during Operation Market Garden - an ambitious Allied attack in the heart of German-occupied Netherlands, with the goal of ending the war before Christmas 1944. The plan was clever but audacious. By carrying out the largest airborne assault of all time on September 22, '44, American paratroopers landed in the heart of the Netherlands, in an attempt to open a corridor through German lines, allowing Allied forces to advance directly onto German soil. However, the strong German forces stationed in the area crushed the optimism and audacity of the American forces, immediately counterattacking and decisively closing the corridor. It was the Allies' greatest defeat on European soil and a day that remained in history as Black Friday.
