The issue of free will, and specifically the question of whether humans will and act freely or whether their choices obey a network of prior natural, metaphysical, social, psychological, or theological causes, is not only a subject of theoretical inquiry. It is connected to the core of human existence.
This work approaches the issue as an anthropological, ethical, legal, and cultural problem. Free will is not examined here as an isolated concept, detached from action, but as the foundation of human responsibility and as a prerequisite for moral evaluation, law, social coexistence, and ultimately, the very concept of the person.
However, the entire discussion in this work would likely remain incomplete without reference to the "invasion" of Artificial Intelligence into our lives. For this reason, reflections are offered on the impact of AI and the use of its applications in the administration of justice, as well as in lawmaking. This is a broad concern of the legal and philosophical community, with practical results, which gives the work a particular relevance.
