The Fritillaria imperialis ‘Aurora’ bulb produces large, bell-shaped flowers in a vivid orange-red shade, hanging in clusters beneath a crown of pointed leaves. The plant grows to a height of 90–100 cm and blooms for about 2–3 weeks, from mid- to late spring.
Plant in autumn in a spot with full sun or light partial shade. The hollow in the centre of the bulb can collect water, so plant it slightly tilted to one side. The bulbs give off a distinctive scent that naturally repels rodents, moles and deer.
