The Narcissus 'Poeticus Recurvus' (also known as Pheasant's Eye) is one of the oldest, most historic, and romantic varieties of narcissus. The 12/14 indication specifies the circumference of the bulb in centimeters, representing the top, most mature size. These bulbs ensure excellent durability, easy acclimatization, and abundant flowering.

It features pure, snow-white petals that curve slightly backward (recurved). In the center stands out a very small, disc-shaped yellow corona with a vivid red rim at the edge, resembling a bird's eye. It is famous for its intoxicating, sweet, and very intense fragrance, traditionally used in high perfumery. It reaches a height of 35 to 45 centimeters on slender but particularly elegant and sturdy stems. It is one of the latest narcissi, blooming in late spring (May), extending the bulb season in your garden.

It is planted in autumn (September to November), ideally before the onset of severe cold. It grows excellently in locations with full sun or partial shade. Unlike other narcissi, it tolerates slightly wetter or heavier soils better, as long as water does not stagnate permanently. It prefers fertile, humus-rich soils with good drainage. Plant the bulb with the tip upwards at a depth of about 10-15 centimeters. Leave a distance of about 10-15 centimeters between them.

Care Tip: After flowering, do not cut the green leaves until they turn completely yellow and dry out on their own (about 6 weeks). The leaves gather the energy needed by the bulb to bloom again the following year.
