  • Planting: In autumn, at a depth of about one and a half times the size of the bulb, in light, fertile, well-drained, neutral or acidic soils.
  • Locations: Sunny and semi-shaded, resistant to very low temperatures.
  • Care: Remove overripe flowers, keep leaves for at least 6 weeks.
  • Use: Grown in flower beds, rock gardens, and pots, with the flowers also used as cut flowers.
  • Propagation: By division of bulbils in autumn.
