The Oxalis versicolor 'Golden Cape' bulb produces funnel-shaped flowers in a golden yellow color with red edges. The closed buds have red and yellow stripes, while the flowers open in sunlight and close in the evening or on very cloudy days. The plant has fine, green foliage and reaches a height of 5–15 cm.
Plant in autumn in light, sandy, free-draining soil. Place the bulbs with the pointed end facing upwards, at a depth of about 5 cm. They can be planted together in small pots, rock gardens, or low flower beds. Plenty of direct sunlight is needed for the flowers to open.
