Texas Gold Tulip Bulb

Maximum height: 55 cm.

The bulb is sold loose, by the piece. The tulip is considered a relatively easy plant to grow. Planting takes place from the beginning of October until the end of November. The hard outer covering is not removed, as it helps protect them against pests.

Planting instructions:

  • Place the bulb with the pointed end facing up and the flat side facing down.
  • Cover with soil according to the planting depth and water.

Blooming occurs from March through May, depending on the variety, with a flowering period of approximately 15-20 days.

Ideal conditions:

  • The planting location should be in partial shade and protected from strong winds. Areas with strong sunlight are avoided, especially exposure to the midday sun.
  • The tulip is planted at a depth equal to three times its height.
  • In pots, the minimum planting depth is 10 cm, so the pot should be at least 20 cm high.

Suitable climate and soil are those protected from strong winds and direct exposure to the sun. Sandy soil is used for excellent drainage, which can be enriched with manure or compost. For pots, outdoor soil enriched with pumice is used.

Fertilizing once a week enhances flowering. The ideal fertilizer is POKON liquid organic fertilizer.

After flowering, watering and fertilizing continue for 2-6 weeks, or until the leaves dry out. When the plant has dried, the bulb is carefully removed and stored in a protected, shaded, and cool place (5-10°C).
