Meta cedar-scented essential oil is obtained from the wood, needles and branches of Juniperus Mexicana by steam distillation. It has a woody, slightly sweet and oily aroma and can be used in aromatic baths, massages and inhalations.

For a bath, add 4–7 drops to 100 l of water at 36–37°C for 10–20 minutes. For a massage, mix 4–5 drops with 20 g of carrier oil. The oil is photosensitising; avoid exposure to the sun for 12 hours after applying it to the skin.
