Viridiflora tulips are one of the most unique categories of tulip. Their name comes from the Latin words viridis (green) and flos (flower). The indication 11/12 specifies the circumference of the bulb in centimeters, which is the ideal commercial size for rich flowering with large, well-formed blooms.

Their main characteristics include:

• Each petal has a distinctive green stripe or brushstroke in the center.
• Striking contrast between the flower color (pink, yellow, red, white) and the green stripe.
• Long flowering duration, up to 3 weeks in a vase.
• Height of 40-50 centimeters with sturdy, strong stems.
• They belong to late tulips, blooming towards the end of spring (April to May).

They are planted in autumn (from September to December), in positions with full sunlight. They prefer light, fertile soil with excellent drainage and require planting at a depth of 10-12 centimeters, with the tip of the bulb facing upward, and a distance of 10 centimeters between them. Viridiflora perform best when planted in groups of 10-15 bulbs or combined with low, white or purple hyacinths.
