Seven years ago, Maeve Abenthy lost everything when her father unleashed a terrible, world-destroying magic. Desperate to escape the stigma of his crimes, she lives under a false name, not staying in one place for too long to avoid being discovered.
That changes when she receives a secret letter containing four impossible words: Your father was innocent.
To uncover the truth, she must pretend to be a student at the prestigious Otherwhere Post. There, she will be trained in the art of skriptomancy - the dangerous magic that allows messengers to deliver letters between worlds. However, some prefer for the past to remain buried...
A dark presence is watching Maeve from the shadows, hindering her investigation at every step. Additionally, her frustratingly charming mentor knows she is lying about something and time is running out to win him over. It soon becomes clear that to reveal the past, Maeve may have to sacrifice her future - or worse, her heart.
