Fascism is no stranger to Greece. It has had a continuous presence spanning more than a century, in different forms and guises.
From the outset, it was linked to national particularities, occupation, foreign dependence, the revival of nationalist issues, economic and social backwardness, and crises of values, institutions and the political system. It was guided by family and kinship networks and by the clientelist and patronage relationships that govern the system of power and informal power to this day.
This book is the result of a long-standing, extensive effort to identify the sources, the activities of various organisations and the paths taken by individuals, in order to bring to light the threads connecting the events, ideologies, interests, aspirations and positions of fascist organisations in their various forms.
My aim has been to contribute to the systematic study of the Greek case, with a view to preventing political deviations and averting the future risk of political upheaval.
