The AXON PoE NetProtector Professional is designed to protect devices connected to a 10/100 Mb/s Ethernet network and remotely powered via unused wire pairs from surges. It features two circuits: a data transmission circuit (lines 1-2, 3-6) and a power supply circuit (lines 4+5, 7+8). Both are protected by surge protection components that discharge the load to ground and also protect the lines from each other within each wire pair. To increase current-carrying capacity, lines 4 and 5 are shorted together, as are lines 7 and 8.
