Description & Specifications

The iO is a giant lava lamp from Mathmos, designed by award-winning designers J. Coles and J. French. It stands 78 cm tall and is 24 cm wide, and is made from cast aluminium with a matte silver finish. Thanks to its size, it can be placed on a table or on the floor.

The iO is made at the Mathmos factory in England, where the bottle containing the specially formulated “lava” is filled by hand. Assembly is simple: place the bottle on the base, then fit the top cap, which is secured with an Allen screw (the screw and key are included). The base also has screw holes, allowing it to be secured in public spaces.

The lava lamp is illuminated by an 80W R7s 78mm Linear Halogen Capsule bulb. Three bulbs of this type are included in each package.
