The anode protection valve (or anode socket) is a plumbing component used mainly in boilers, such as the tank or boiler paired with the burner, as well as in water heaters, solar water heaters, and buffer tanks/boilers. Its primary purpose is to protect the metal hot water tank from electrochemical corrosion, such as rust and pitting.
