The BR3 is a braking device designed for small grid-connected wind turbines, with a rated power of 600 W and a brake voltage of 110 V. Its electrodynamic braking system slows the wind turbine in high-wind conditions, protecting it from potential damage.
The BR3 is installed between the inverter and the wind turbine, converting alternating current (AC) voltage to direct current (DC) voltage. When wind speeds are excessive, the BR3 gradually slows the wind turbine and then releases the brake, preventing overspeed and excessive generator output. This extends the service life of both the generator and the entire system.
The BR3 is compatible with 12 V, 24 V, and 48 V systems.
Connection- Set the manual switch to the “Brake” position.
- Connect the power supply to the BR3 brake control unit. The green LED will illuminate.
- Connect the grid-tie inverter output to the BR3 output.
- Connect the wind turbine to the BR3 brake controller.
Once all connections have been completed, set the manual switch to the “Release” position.
