The LXM255 battery hydrometer accurately measures electrolyte density and helps assess the state of charge of serviceable batteries. Readings are intended for a temperature of 25°C.

  • Density and battery condition:
    • 1.1 g/cm³: fully discharged or damaged battery.
    • Below 1.15 g/cm³: discharged, sulfated, or damaged battery.
    • 1.15–1.2 g/cm³: charging required.
    • 1.2–1.25 g/cm³: additional charging required.
    • 1.28–1.285 g/cm³: fully charged battery.
    • 1.3 g/cm³: possible overcharging; dilute the electrolyte with distilled water.
  • Device length: 26.5 cm.
