The Plews Tyres MX3 Foxhills GP Hard Rear 110/90-19 is a rear Motocross tyre for Hard Terrain, designed for very hard, fast and rocky tracks. The MX3 Foxhills GP is inspired by the British Foxhill track in Swindon and has been developed for grip, stability and control in demanding hard-terrain conditions.
Its design combines LFC (Lateral Flex Control), CCT (Chipping and Chunking Tread) and CCRC (Chipping & Chunking Resistant Compound) technologies with an asymmetric tread pattern and larger, specially shaped knobs. This version is Rear 110/90-19 and is marked NHS (Not for Highway Service / Non Homologated), so it is not intended for use on public roads.
LFC – Lateral Flex Control LFC (Lateral Flex Control) technology relates to the tyre carcass design and uses high-quality race polyester for a lightweight, heat-resistant construction. LFC is designed to control the carcass’s lateral flex, contributing to motorcycle stability and control, even in demanding Motocross conditions.
CCT – Chipping and Chunking Tread CCT (Chipping and Chunking Tread) technology relates to the tread design philosophy and has been developed for Intermediate and Hard Terrain, including rocky and stony surfaces. During development, specialised contact patch testing equipment is used to ensure the knobs are effectively supported at high lean angles and under increased loads. The design aims to reduce the likelihood of chipping and chunking, meaning wear, breakage and pieces coming away from the knobs.
CCRC – Chipping & Chunking Resistant Compound CCRC (Chipping & Chunking Resistant Compound) is a rubber compound developed to provide greater resistance to chipping, chunking and tearing. According to Plews Tyres, specialised testing machines are used during compound development to measure rubber loss over time. This data is used to improve the compound’s resistance to the stresses encountered on hard and rocky terrain.
Asymmetric tread design The tread patterns of the front and rear MX3 Foxhills GP feature an asymmetric layout from left to right. This design aims to improve the contact patch with the ground, enhancing grip and stability on hard surfaces.
Larger, specially shaped knobs The larger knobs have an increased surface area, providing better feel and greater comfort when riding on hard terrain. They also feature special cuts and design details to improve bite and ground contact feel, with the aim of delivering greater grip and better control.
NHS – Not for Highway Service Plews Tyres lists this Rear 110/90-19 size as NHS (Non Homologated / Not for Highway Service). This means the tyre is not approved for use on public roads and is intended for off-road and Motocross track use. The 80/100-21 and 120/90-18 sizes are listed separately by Plews Tyres as Road Legal with DOT and ECE Homologation. This approval does not apply to this 110/90-19 version.
