Description

The Gold Classic is Rigotti’s top reed, renowned for the quality of its materials. Reeds from the Var and Cogolin regions of France are considered among the best in the world. They grow beside rivers and streams in a large area that is cultivated throughout the year.

After two years of maturation, when they reach a height of 7–8 metres and a diameter of 26–32 cm, they are harvested in winter. After processing, only 2–3 metres from the base are kept; the rest is either burned or used as bamboo. The tubes are then cut and the nodes removed.
