Upper material: Oiled leather
Oiled leather is one of our favorite types of leather. Its oily, waxed surface creates a unique color and develops a beautiful patina over time. The oil coating on our natural leather products results in color variations, making every pair unique.
Footbed lining: Natural leather
Natural leather can be recognized by its untreated surface. BIRKENSTOCK deliberately leaves characteristic spots and other natural features untreated. The upper material is made from durable leather with a thickness of 2.8 to 3.2 millimeters.
Sole material: Cork
Cork is a sustainable material harvested from the bark of the cork oak. This natural product is insulating and provides excellent shock absorption.
Outsole: EVA
EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) is a high-quality, very lightweight, flexible material with excellent shock-absorbing properties. It smooths out minor irregularities in the ground and ensures that every step is gently cushioned.
