Nesbø at his best! The new Harry Hole novel is as intense and macabre as we expected. The author has perfected the art of horror fiction and doesn’t shy away from graphic depictions of violence. This is the Nesbø we know: solid, effective, well-structured. His new book seems to have an unusually harmonious ending. Yet we are given a warning: not everything is as it should be. There will probably be at least one more book featuring Hole. Until then, you can’t go wrong with The Killing Shot.

Harry has also found success on screen, and Nesbø has learned a lot about the film and television industry. That’s where he found inspiration for The Killing Shot. And there’s no doubt about it: Nesbø KNOWS cinema. I believe that, with his past as a striker for Molde who scored plenty of goals, Nesbø may know better than anyone how to fool a crime-fiction reader. He proves it in this addition to the Hole universe. Nesbø, Harry, and his friend and erudite taxi driver Øystein have once again managed to create a classic crime novel that is sure to appeal to everyone. Nesbø has a command of language that many writers in the genre would envy. Despite its length, the book is a very quick read—as always, it’s hard to put down, because Nesbø knows exactly how to keep you on tenterhooks at the end of every chapter.
