RadioMaster AX12 Remote Controller
The RadioMaster AX12 is a brand-new remote controller that combines a traditional transmitter with an ELRS module and Android support. It runs RadioMasterOS, based on Android 9.0, allowing apps to be installed directly on the transmitter. It offers model control capabilities, as well as apps for model configuration, telemetry, and ground station use.
A standout feature is its 5.5-inch HD IPS touchscreen, with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels and brightness of up to 1000 nits, making it easy to read even in direct sunlight. It features an octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage. Equipped with X5 Hall-sensor gimbals for precise, stable control, it is also compatible with the aluminium AG01 Nano.
For model control, it includes 1× four-position switch, 2× two-position switches, 2 analog rotary switches, and 1 programmable six-position switch. All controls can be freely mapped through the software.
The remote controller uses a built-in ExpressLRS module based on the LR1121 chip, supporting both 2.4GHz and 868/915MHz, with maximum output power of 250mW and low RC link latency. It supports up to 16 channels and offers advanced mixing options, custom control curves, adjustable dual rates, and channel locking.
A key feature of the AX12 is MAVLink passthrough support, allowing you to use apps such as QGroundControl or configuration tools for flight controllers. The Android environment lets you install compatible apps from Google Play or via APK files. This means the remote controller can function as both an RC transmitter and a ground station.
It supports apps such as DJI Fly, QGroundControl, and Betaflight Configurator. It has an HDMI input, allowing video from digital FPV systems such as Walksnail Avatar/Ascent, HDZero, or OpenIPC/RubyFPV to be displayed directly on the remote controller’s screen. It can also output video to an external display via HDMI.
The USB-C OTG connection allows video from DJI Goggles to be displayed directly through the DJI Fly app. On the back of the remote controller, there is a Nano port for potential expansion with an external transmission module. It also features a built-in speaker and a 3.5mm audio output for headphones.
Connectivity is provided via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a USB-C port for data transfer. It is powered by a pair of built-in 21700 Li-ion batteries with a total capacity of approximately 10,000 mAh, providing long operating time when using apps and during full-power transmission. Charging is via the USB-C port on the bottom, using a power source that supports the Power Delivery protocol.
