In November 2022, a woman receives a phone call from the police. A body has been found on the beach in Le Havre, the city where she grew up. In the victim’s pocket, a cinema ticket bears her phone number. Who was this man, and how was he connected to her?
The police officers’ persistent questions set in motion an anguished search through the narrow streets of the city she left behind, as well as the corridors of her own memory. Over the course of a single day, the woman wanders through a Le Havre surrounded by forgotten faces and shadows from another time, as the harbor waves seem to dance to the rhythm of memories. What was still standing after twenty years away?
A personal urban odyssey that explores how we continually rebuild ourselves atop ruins, and how we learn to move forward alongside the ghosts of the past.
