This complex has been specially designed for people prone to cold sores. Its formula promotes rapid healing and, with regular use, may help prevent recurrence. Cold sores are caused by infection with herpes simplex virus type 1, which is highly contagious. Initially, the lip area may feel numb and itchy. The next day, the affected area swells, and a few hours later, small blisters form. Cold sores are not only unsightly but also extremely uncomfortable.

Cold sores occur at least once in the lifetime of one third of those affected and are the most important symptom of this type of infection. In many cases, latent viral activity leads to recurring outbreaks. The initial infection usually occurs during childhood, is mild, and often goes unnoticed. The virus can be reactivated by various internal and external factors throughout life. Triggers for cold sore outbreaks may include stress, colds, hormonal fluctuations (menstruation, pregnancy), a generally weakened immune system, and intense UV radiation.

In addition to conventional topical treatments for cold sores, scientific studies also support oral treatments that may both prevent outbreaks and accelerate the healing of existing cold sore lesions.

Gall Pharma's Lip-Fit capsules contain a special combination of selected nutrients that may help with frequent cold sore outbreaks. Zinc gluconate, L-lysine, and the special Panmol® B vitamin complex (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12), as well as folic acid and biotin, contribute to rapid healing during an acute cold sore outbreak and, with regular use, may reduce the frequency of outbreaks. Vitamins B6, folic acid (vitamin B9), and vitamin B12 support normal immune system function. Panmol® B vitamins are in a biologically active, readily absorbed form. These capsules therefore provide an ideal foundation for successful cold sore management.

L-lysine acts as an antagonist of L-arginine, an amino acid that is important for viral replication. L-lysine inhibits the cellular transport mechanism of L-arginine, thereby limiting the replication of herpes viruses.

The trace element zinc strengthens the immune system and is important for maintaining normal skin and mucous membrane structure. Zinc has been shown to have a direct antiviral effect in cell culture experiments. Zinc may limit the replication of herpes viruses and common cold pathogens (rhinoviruses). Zinc contributes to normal immune system function and the maintenance of healthy skin. This trace element is important for cell division and helps protect cells from oxidative stress. The capsules contain highly bioavailable zinc gluconate.
