Fear Effect 2: Retro Helix Limited Edition for Nintendo Switch is a prequel set in Hong Kong in 2048, two years before the events of Fear Effect. The adventure takes players from futuristic urban landscapes to the lost tomb of China's first emperor, while revealing the origins of Hana Tsu-Vachel, Royce Glas, Deke Decourt, and Rain Qin.
The story blends high-tech espionage, ancient Chinese mythology, and supernatural elements. 3D cel-shaded character models are paired with animated FMV backgrounds, while the “Fear Effect” system links combat effectiveness to heart rate. The game features intense action, stealth takedowns, and survival puzzles.
Additional features include save states, rewind, widescreen support, achievements, and CRT filters.
