Review this product
  • This review is about a variation of the product

The book contains a collection of case law. In terms of length, it could easily be half because it constantly repeats itself, not only from chapter to chapter but in many instances the next paragraph happens to be the same as the previous one. Very exhausting book that instead of facilitating, complicates the understanding of the issues it concerns.

Description & Specifications

This third edition also analyzes the legal institution of horizontal property ownership, a particularly challenging area of civil law due to its incomplete statutory framework and the non-mandatory provisions of the law governing it. Through a systematic organization of the material, the institution is presented in an accessible manner.

Accordingly, the work is divided into three main parts: (a) the establishment of horizontal property ownership; (b) its operation in the absence of bylaws; and (c) its operation where bylaws governing the relationships between co-owners have been drawn up.

This work has been expanded both in its coverage of case law and in its subject matter. The inclusion of excerpts from case law provides additional, essential assistance in understanding how the law is applied. Laws 5221/2025 (Government Gazette 133 A΄/28.7.2025) and 5264/2025 (Government Gazette 239 A΄/19.12.2025) introduced further amendments to the Greek Code of Civil Procedure, which also affect the special procedure for hearing disputes arising from horizontal property ownership. Finally, the institution is also affected by the new inheritance law, introduced by Law 5303/2026 (Government Gazette 81 A΄/22.5.2026), which provides for the new institution of the inheritance agreement.
