This Code, fully updated through Law 5326/2026 (Government Gazette A΄ 125/4.8.2026), is an essential tool for practicing lawyers, as it is the only one to include earlier versions of the articles in a clear, practical format, enabling the immediate identification and tracking of all amendments.
In particular, the transition from the old to the new Criminal Code and the latter’s successive amendments raise serious issues of intertemporal law and make it necessary to compare the relevant provisions throughout their history. In this work, each article is presented in its latest version in force (through Law 5326/2026), while its previous versions are also listed in chronological order, together with the latest version of the corresponding article in the former Criminal Code of 1950 and Code of Criminal Procedure of 1950, in the hope that it will serve as a useful tool for every legal professional.
In addition, the new edition includes selected references to provisions of special criminal laws that diverge from the general rules of the Criminal Code and the Code of Criminal Procedure.
