Castlevania: Belmont's Curse - Midnight Edition is a 2D action-platforming and exploration game set in Paris in 1499, when the city is under attack by monsters. As the successor to Trevor Belmont, the player wields the legendary Vampire Killer whip to hunt down the creatures in the streets and castle. The story takes place 23 years after the events of Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse.
The whip is used both in combat and for traversal, while weapons and abilities offer options for taking on enemies strategically. Exploration features traps, puzzles, secret rooms, hidden items and challenging areas in a world with a fresh, colourful visual style that expands on the series' gothic aesthetic.
