As the astral tortoise steers its cart along the trail of the forest’s monsters, we follow the turbulent course of its inspiration through the whirlwind of social and political events of the past twenty years.
The forest is filled with deceptive sounds—rustlings, chirrups, whistles—as well as familiar voices from the creatures of art, which bring the cart’s workshop to life, each time sparking or suggesting the theme of the myth to be shaped.
Library platypuses, condors on floating rafts, Bengal cats hidden in the foliage, messenger crows, waterfall otters, warlike bulls, scholarly beavers, flying squirrels, and armadillos riding dragonfly chariots are some of the voices that accompany the cart along cliffside passages and through the forest’s perilous clearings.
A forest battered by repeated crises, losses, and heartbreaking divisions, by challenges and dilemmas, which myth seeks to express and understand, right up to the tumultuous reality of today.
