Dulux Trade Weathershield Quick Dry Exterior Flexible Undercoat is a water-based wood primer for exterior wooden surfaces and joinery. Its flexible formula moves with the natural expansion and contraction of wood as weather conditions change, while providing very good adhesion. As part of the Weathershield system, it helps provide protection for up to 8 years when applied according to the instructions.
Apply with a brush, roller or spray gun. It is touch-dry in 1–2 hours. On bare wood, apply two coats of Weathershield Preservative Primer to softwood, followed by two coats of undercoat; on previously painted surfaces, apply one coat. Allow at least 4 hours between coats and before applying the Weathershield topcoat. The surface must be sound, clean and dry, with no loose material, grease or wax; seal knots with a suitable product.
