Dulux Trade Weathershield Smooth Masonry Paint is a water-based acrylic paint for exterior walls made of plaster, concrete, roughcast render and brick. It forms a flexible, highly breathable film and contains a fungicide that inhibits mould growth on the film. It is rain-resistant 30 minutes after application and also resists moisture, UV radiation, mild atmospheric pollutants and salts from new mortar.
Apply with a brush, roller, conventional spray gun or airless spray gun. The surface must be sound, clean and dry. Wash previously painted surfaces with detergent, rinse and scrape away any loose areas. Treat mould, algae, lichens and moss with a suitable fungicidal solution. Fill minor imperfections with filler and larger holes with a sand-and-cement mortar. On new or bare, sound surfaces, dilute the first coat with water at a ratio of 1:5. Prime loose, dusty or chalky surfaces with Weathershield Stabilising Primer. Two full coats are required, although one coat may be sufficient on previously painted surfaces in good condition and a similar shade. Do not apply below 7 °C, in rain or fog, or when relative humidity exceeds 80%.
