I bought FIFA 16 used, and it arrived on time with a free copy of FIFA 15. Although this review is written in 2024, this particular FIFA remains one of the best in my opinion because I grew up with it and have been longing to buy it these days to have it in my library as a worthy arcade game on PS4 where you can play with your friends. First, I will mention the positives of the game, and I can say that for a game from 16, you cannot ignore that it had good and progressive graphics. It has the classic game modes that you can play, such as Career mode, where you had the option to create a player and become the manager of a team of your choice, and there is also the Tournament mode where you can win a cup and the league title, as well as a Tournament mode with women's teams, which if I'm not mistaken is the first game to include women's teams in a FIFA game. From all these modes, we can all agree who have played this game on how good the Career mode of the manager was and still is. In this mode, you have the ability to do (as the name suggests) managing. That is, you have the ability to control which players will play in your squad, whom you will take out, whom you will sell, or send to another country to play for a short period to save money for your team, manage your player transfers, and even request a transfer to your team from famous players. In short, you can look for example for Pogba and negotiate with his manager about how much money and what monthly salary he could transfer to your team, and if he agrees, you sign an official paper and then you can put him in your squad to play with other well-known players. I don't know if they have utilized this idea well in future FIFA games, but this mode showed that you can have complete control over the team of your dreams, and if I'm not mistaken, it wasn't utilized in the PRO games as an idea. For me, these small details, even in an IP like FIFA, matter in simulation games. However, I cannot ignore the negatives of the game. According to the research I did in the FIFA fandom, the Career mode of Player or Manager lasts at least 13 years. If I may say, even 15 years in total. No, these years are not counted in real-time, but still, it is a very long game time and you cannot finish it. I reached January 2017 and could not play it anymore as the game becomes monotonous no matter how many titles and cups you compete for. I played all the game modes, and overall without finishing my Career, the gameplay came out to 55 hours. There is an option in the Calendar where you can simulate your team's matches. But in the sim, there are several times when your team will lose as this option works randomly because you do not have control over your team. You will do it until you lose, but believe me, after two matches, your team will start to lose, and key players will get injured. If you play the Career mode with a player, you can retire and become a manager. But then the game continues with you as the manager and only the mode changes. The time remains the same to finish a Career mode. In conclusion, I can say that the game does not disappoint again and as a cheap option compared to the new games, it is worth all the way.

The worst thing that has been released in sports video games.
1) It doesn't resemble real football at all, it seems like a game. (ARCADE)
2) The players' statistics don't play any role, they all play the same! The only thing that matters is if the player has the famous "Pace".. You see, for example, a player with an overall rating of 60 performing better than Muller or Ibrahimovic just because he has better Pace.
3) When we say the CPU should be competitive, we mean it should be competitive according to each team's abilities. It's not possible to see a team with only 2-star players suffer against "Barcelona" or something similar just because you have it on a difficult level.
4) The players' movements are the most unacceptable I have encountered in football games. Completely robotic, abrupt, not realistic at all.
5) Let's talk about the "best" negative aspect.. My favorite "collision system," that is, how one body collides with another. SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE. I have nothing else to say in this area!
6) Due to the "collision system," the referees are ALL OVER THE PLACE, foolish, blind, they call penalties, fouls as you pass the ball, even if you touch the opponent, it's a foul, or even if you make a cross, it's considered a penalty! "Very realistic."
7) The controls and the "feeling" we have when playing a game are awful.
8) The defensive function is broken, wrong code? I don't know! But they definitely didn't test it properly when they were developing it. Definitely. The defenders are positioned incorrectly, they don't mark, until they realize they have to defend, the PlayStation 5 will be out.
9) I really wonder if there at EA Sports, they hire capable people to develop a serious and balanced game. After playing this miserable game for 5 months, the conclusion is that the developers are brainless to release this thing for purchase.
10) The good old days when football games were released that were capable of simulating real football along with the "electronic" aspect no longer exist.
Not even one star, but Skroutz doesn't have it.

When I watch the Champions League, the matches of the Spanish, English(!), Italian, and German leagues, I always get excited and then I want to experience their representation in FIFA 16! The definition of realism... at all levels... I am completely satisfied, many aspects of the game have been improved. I heard many people saying that it has deteriorated compared to previous versions, etc... all nonsense! Very good job... and for those who have an internet connection, even better! Every week there is an update on rosters and player ratings-statistics based on their current performance! And with just one button, you can disable it if you want and have the initial rosters...

Now, onto the negatives... EA doesn't pay attention to REST OF WORLD teams like the Greek teams Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, and PAOK... for example, except for Ideye and Campana, the others are hastily made in terms of faces and bodies, but they have exactly the shoes each player wears in reality... not a single one has the wrong shoes... for example, Durmaz has the Puma shoes. However, if I had made the faces myself, I would have done a better job... It seems strange to me that they still don't have a Greek stadium (e.g. Karaiskakis)... compared to other stadiums they have, it's a shame...

Lastly... although the commentary is quite good, I'm tired of hearing the same Commentators for 15 years now!!! But the worst part is that many times a goal is scored or a good play happens and they are unaffected as if it's a side issue... such uninspiring commentary (sometimes)...

Anyway... if you're going to spend 70 euros on a soccer game, FIFA is unfortunately the only one worth it! (because competition would be good!) You see, all the negatives I mentioned are the same or worse in Pro Evolution. And maybe that's why EA is complacent and doesn't improve them.

In FIFA 16, all the errors from 15 have really been fixed. The goalkeepers finally react normally in the plays, the players have a much more realistic pace in the game, and it is also not unlikely to score from a long distance this year. Apart from that, the game has become incredibly realistic with amazing replays in the plays, goal line technology, the referee drawing with the spray, the spray that the ball leaves in the rain, and the weather phenomena determining the pace of the game, with ball control becoming difficult when it's raining heavily or snowing. The women's national teams are simply indifferent, they will play just once for the experience. Improved career mode, new stadiums with the Premier League standing out... improved graphics as well, but to a lesser extent. Very strong ultimate team and the online component, which are also strong points of the game. I think that this year it surpasses its competitor, so choose it, if you have the opportunity and are fans of the sport, get both!
