Description

Description

Scientific research is a dialogue, a double dialogue: between the researcher and the subject under examination, and among researchers who exchange their views. This volume collects ten theatrical studies from the period 2007-2010, which combine theoretical reflections with historical inquiries, terminology and documentation issues with contemporary applications of theater in education and business, as well as studies that address the theatricality of public and private life and the influence of music on Greek pre-revolutionary theater. The sequence of the chapters generally follows a chronological order, starting with general and theoretical issues, reaching historical themes of Greek theater from the 18th to the 20th century, and finishing again with a broader social perspective.

Specifically: the theatricality of popular culture, theater as symbol and as point, theater beyond the point, terminology issues in modern Greek theater, documentation issues in the history of Greek pre-revolutionary theater, opera librettos in Greek pre-revolutionary dramaturgy, Greek theater in Southeast Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean during the 19th century, melancholy and death in the literary work of Konstantinos Christomanos, theater and education in Greece, theater in business.

The indexes at the end of the volume, of names and persons, concepts and terms, places, works, and titles, unlock the treasure of information and allow the reader a selective use of the book.
