In the past, they spoke of "pansexualism," launching denunciations of "moral degeneration" and "pornographic license." This moralistic rhetoric has now passed. Where it still appears today, it resembles a caricature and is automatically categorized among the relics of the quaintness of another era. However, the culture of sex is ubiquitous in the public space. It does not tend to shape new morals; it has already shaped them. And it is now establishing a new way within us to understand the self and consciousness. In the last two decades, technology and the compression of space and time in our lives make these shifts seem more radical than before.

Within such a framework, how does a Christian conscience position itself? Where does it find its vital space and how easily does it meet others? How can it fulfill God’s commandments? And as a Church, what message can we articulate in the modern world, a world that places sexuality at the core of its self-understanding?
