It has the very big advantage that it doesn't lock if it hasn't been closed properly and the key doesn't come out if it hasn't locked, thus ensuring the correct closure and that it won't open on the road. I have suffered damage from a top case that hadn't secured and opened while I was in motion, resulting in the contents scattering and getting lost on the road. Excellent waterproofing, even in a storm, I didn't find a drop of water inside. Clearly, there are more economical options, but I believe it's worth investing a little more for a higher quality top case like this one.
