Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, based on the upcoming film from DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures in collaboration with Hasbro.
It allows players to take on the role of their favorite AUTOBOTS or DECEPTICONS, choosing from the largest and most diverse range of Transformers games - each with unique abilities and weapons.
Filled with unique environments around the world, such as Cairo and Shanghai, the game allows players to instantly switch from vehicle form to robot as they drive, fly, battle, and navigate through intense and challenging tracks.
After experiencing individual action, for the first time players will be able to go online and fight with friends in new multiplayer modes.
- The game is set several years after Megatron's defeat in the first game/movie, revealing that the Decepticon threat is far from over.
- Since the end of the first movie, the Decepticons have begun to re-emerge across the Earth searching for a mysterious object in space that will change the balance of power.
- The game is a linear third-person shooter that puts the player in control of many of the movie's main characters, alternating between Autobot and Decepticon factions.
- The story unfolds through cutscenes that also allow the player to easily switch between characters. Playable characters on the Autobot side include: Optimus Prime, Iron Hide, Jetfire, Bumblebee.
- The Decepticon side includes: Starscream, Sideways (a new character), and Megatron.
- Although the game does not allow transformation at the player's will, transformation has been introduced as special attacks during robot form, in fixed alternative game modes, and in both robot and vehicle forms as special moves that give the player alternative abilities.
- For example, transforming as Starscream while flying will allow him to fly backward as a robot to destroy enemies behind the protagonist.
- In multiplayer modes, at any time during the single-player campaign, a friend can join as the "Remote Weapon System," allowing them to shoot against enemies, raise a shield for protection, and transfer energon between the two players.
