...now that you've turned eighteen and are starting what you've always longed for, your own life, listen to a couple of things that I’ve understood from my own life.
Some of these I've told you before, but most you will hear for the first time. They are not advice, I know, you’ve grown tired of them. Let’s say it’s a manual, like those you find in the box of your new phone.
Don't get upset, I know you can handle phones like a pro, you don’t need instructions. But the lives of adults, you really do, believe me. Now that you're leaving home, you’re changing levels, just like back in your electronic games. This new level is tough. You need to survive it with dignity, otherwise, you will live a life that isn’t worth living.
So keep this little silly book, it might come in handy someday, who knows...
It is written with love, with guilt, with hopes, with fear for you, with trust in you. Because you are a good kid and the society we hand over to you is merciless. Remember that the world around you is dirty, but there is always clean water to wash your face. Never stop looking for it...
