The disk was purchased on 15/3/21 and has a 2-year warranty. In the past few days, it has been excessively slow to access files and suddenly gave me an "i/o device error" and the data cannot be read. I tried to restore it with check disk, clean it with diskpart, but unfortunately without success. I also used a third-party partition tool without achieving anything. It was used for backup on a weekly basis. The issue is that it has a warranty, but who sends it with their personal files inside?

Unreliable, it gave up in less than 8 months.

4/5 stars just because it's quite noisy when writing something. Otherwise, it's fine. But for the price, you can't ask for more.

I bought a used one from someone who had it on a personal server.
The review states that it has recorded 739 hours of active use.
I did not install any operating system on it, I have only used it as a multimedia/game library.
While it has okay sequential speeds, the random ones are mediocre, so don't expect to run all your games from here.
Also, even though it is 5400 rpm, it sounds as loud as my 7200 disk.
Additionally, the needle is quite audible.
In a noisy environment, you won't notice it, but in a passive cooling system, it will make a difference and may be annoying.

I bought it in 2016 and it failed in 2020. The only way to fix it is to replace the head. As a hard drive, it was the quietest I've seen, but its speed was mediocre to slow, especially when exceeding its 1.2 TB capacity. I see that WD is not doing anything to improve its Blue drives and is selling them at a high price, despite the fact that you can find cheaper and faster drives from other companies. I won't even mention the non-existent cache, but the 5400 rpm is unjustified by WD for 3.5" desktop hard drives in 2020.

From my own experience, this hard drive is simply bad. Purchased on 3/19/2019 and around 1/20/2020 it started disappearing from my computer, my tests were showing a warning "too many bad sectors" until even the SMART test, when I opened the computer on 1/28, showed me a "status bad, backup and replace" indication. Is it normal for a relatively new hard drive (10 months of use) to become useless? I don't know, but I haven't heard of this before. It's quite rare, I know, maybe I just got a defective product, but my experience with this specific HDD is the worst.

The only negative thing I have to say is that it's sold in a nylon bag that tears easily, just from the weight of the disk itself... I got it in good condition but it has no protection from external factors and I don't know if I would trust ordering it without a box for shipping (I got it from the store itself so there was no need for such a scenario). Otherwise, it has everything I would expect from a WD 1TB disk. Generally, I don't trust WD much but due to the price, I took the risk. Fast for simple file transfer (I don't use it as an operating system), durable, good for its price, so far no problems.

I have been a customer of this company for 20 years. The hard drive is quiet and ideal for storage. Sometimes it goes into hibernation but quickly recovers. File transfers (video) at read speeds of 100-120 MB/sec and write speeds of 85-95 MB/sec. However, I do not believe it has the build quality of older drives. For operating systems, it is now better to use SSDs instead of HDDs.

With great experience in file loss and the corresponding crying,
    I only trust WD.
I bought this one to replace

I boot my system with an ssd and use this one for

Due to the fact that from the 4th-5th day it simply runs almost continuously like a truck and runs at 100%.
It has been installed on a brand new system with purchased antivirus and Windows!
And because there are several cases where this may happen due to the fact that Windows have been running for a year and a half, and I have tried every solution, nothing has changed, probably the specific part I bought was defective!

I have been the owner of this disk for a year now and it has not disappointed me at all. It is quiet, cool, and fast enough for a mechanical disk. The capacity/price ratio is very good and that's why I chose it. Trust it without hesitation.

Hello, I have 2 systems in my possession, with one in each. The blue ones are recommended for operating systems, so I have installed programs and Windows on them. If you want speed, go for SSD or black ones. I have 4 black ones as I am a designer and need a lot of space, so SSDs don't work for me. I am very satisfied with the stability of the hard drive, although technology changes over time and I would recommend using an SSD instead of the WD blue for your operating system. For gaming, you want a faster hard drive, not necessarily an SSD, as it only affects the loading of the game. So before making unnecessary SSD purchases, do your research. For a simple user, this hard drive is perfect.

For the past 10 years, I've only had problems with WD!
In terms of speed, it's fine, but for the same amount of money, there are other options with a slight difference towards the top!

One of the most reliable HDDs on the market and at a good price. I've had it for over 6 months and it's been very good

  • The disk was purchased on 15/3/21 and has a 2-year warranty.

  • For years, it has been a one-way street in terms of HDD storage for simple use, office work and even gaming. It offers great value for money and is reliable.

  • 4/5 stars just because it's quite noisy when writing something. Otherwise, it's fine. But for the price, you can't ask for more.

  • I bought a used one from someone who had it on a personal server.

  • I bought it in 2016 and it failed in 2020.
