Gradient compression socks represent the most effective conservative treatment for venous insufficiency of the lower limbs. They are intended to exert compression on the superficial veins of the lower limbs, thus reducing the amount of blood in them.

The greatest compression is applied at the ankle and gradually decreases towards the thigh. The pressure distribution is 100% at the ankle, 50%-80% at the calf, and 20%-40% at the thigh.

The socks are essential when blood circulation in the lower limbs needs to be supported due to pathological conditions related to venous health, such as chronic venous insufficiency, varicose veins, and pregnancy.

Additionally, they help in the prevention for individuals who undergo prolonged standing and air travel.

Their use is limited during the day and they are removed during nighttime sleep due to the increased fluid pressure in the body during the day.

The compression levels are three: class 1, class 2, and class 3. Based on the doctor's recommendation, the height of the sock should also be specified.
