ANNO: Create a New World takes place in 1404: The land of King George suffers from drought and famine. Aware of the citizens' distress, the king decides to send his two sons, William and Edgar, to acquire new territories in order to produce enough goods to satisfy the inhabitants. While Edgar suggests they fight to collect valuable resources, his brother William proposes a peaceful solution, suggesting they explore new and uninhabited areas to the south of the Kingdom. With their father's agreement, William heads south and discovers a mysterious oriental culture.
