A Russian woman did it to me once, and I couldn't believe what came out when she opened the used cone. After years, because one of my ears has a problem, I remembered it and searched for it. It worked again, it removed the red wax and something white probably from soap residue as seen in the photo. Never again to the doctor for this issue.

Ear candling is Pseudo-Medicine.
Not only does it not clean but it is also dangerous (especially if performed by the patient themselves in their own ear, without assistance. People have been burned).
The melted wax that remains in the cone after use is not from the ear but from the wax cone itself.
