Does not work without the base – and this is not mentioned anywhere
I bought the Zebra DS2278 alone, without the base, assuming it would work as presented. It does not work at all without the base – it does not scan, does not turn on, does nothing, no matter how much you charge it.

The problem is that there is no warning about this on the Skroutz page, making it very easy for someone to fall into this trap.

And the worst part? The base costs over €100 extra, almost as much as the scanner itself.
If you do not intend to buy the base as well, do not purchase it.

Speed is average and if you scan especially from a distance it's bad! Range is very poor, it disconnects constantly, we have it connected via Bluetooth to a PC. Of course, we are scanning in the warehouse which is just behind the checkout, there are at most 10-15 meters and one wall in between. Easy to use, sturdy construction, and easy to program if you want it to perform certain processes during the click - scan. Infinite feedback and content for whatever you want, it's Zebra, makes sense! For simple use, it's perfect, but for extreme situations, I do not recommend it...
